CONNECTING THE UNITS

1 - This unit is for vehicles with a 12-volt battery and negative grounding. Before installing it in a vehicle, check the battery voltage.

2 -To avoid shorts in the electrical system, be sure to disconnect the battery cable before beginning installation.

3 - Secure the wiring with clamps or adhesive tape. where it lies against metal parts.

4- Route and secure all wiring so it cannot touch any moving part, such as gear shift, handbrake and seat rails. Do not route wiring in places that get hot, such as near the heater outlet since the insulation may melt or get torn so that short circuitry to the vehicle body is likely to happen.

5 - Do not shorten any leads. If you do so, the protection circuit may fail to work when it should.

Text 8 :- MITUTOYO - BX303 COORDINATE MEASURING MACHINE

SETTING UP

Ambient conditions :

(1) Temperature
To ensure the rated measurement accuracy, the ambient temperature needs to be maintained within a range close to 20°C. the recommended optimum ambient temperature is 20°C +/- 1°C

(2) Relative humidity
(....) if it exceeds the mist’s separator capability, condensation may occur (.....). Environment humidity should be maintained in a range of 50% - 60%.

(3) Vibration
(...) vibration should be less then 2µm pp. in amplitude if frequency is less than 10 Hz (...). Whenever this limit is exceeded, a foundation should be laid or the machine must be installed on a vibration damper.

(4) Dust
For accurate measuring, dust must be avoided. In particular, the sliding faces must be periodically cleaned.

(5) Power source.
The power supply must not be shared with other facilities, therefore an exclusive power supply must be provided for the main unit and its peripheral equipment

(6) Air source
A positive air source with a capacity of more than 70Ng min at 5 Kgf/cm² is required. This air source may be supplied either through exclusive piping or from an independent air compressor. The air should be as dry as possible.

Text 9 :- MITUTOYO - BX303 COORDINATE MEASURING MACHINE

OPERATING METHOD

Follow the procedure below before initial measurement.

(1) Cable connection check
Check that the power, signal and grounding cables are connected as specified.

(2) Air supply
Open the air valve and then set the pressure gauge reading to 4 kgf/cm² with the pressure adjustment knob on the air-cleaning unit.

(3) Power supply
Turn the counter or data processor power switch to ON.

(4) Checking the display function
Hold the probe adpator attached to the bottom of the Z spindle and move it in each axis to check if the displays count properly in the following way : X-axis : increment from left to right ; Y- axis : increment front to back ; Z-axis : increment down to up.

Mains connection
The 103 voltage current standard must be supplied by a mains voltage of 115Vrms or 230 Vrms +/- 13% at a frequency within the range 50 to 400 Hz.
When the mains input to the instrument is not compatible with the mains voltage, follow the instructions shown below which give the sequence of operations necessary to make the correct adjustments. (....)

Storage
The equipment must be stored in a non humid place where the temperature remains within the range -20°C to + 70°C.

Rack mounting
The 103 can be mounted in a 19-inch rack by means of two 2 U adapters supplied on request. The two metal brackets are fitted to the sides of the instrument and fixed by four screws. However it may be necessary to use two additional metal brackets if ....
